Abstract
The Research development of employee productivity models through creativity to increase competitiveness for furniture companies in East Java aims to describe and evaluate the model implementation, develop employee productivity models, and analyze the strategies that the company does in improving competitiveness.
The research design used is a type of qualitative descriptive research and the form of research is field research with research directly to the research location. The sampling technique used was purpose proportional random sampleI, so as many as 15 companies were sampled in Surabaya, Pasuruan, Sidoarjo, Malang and Gresik. After the data is collected, then analyzed using SWOT analysis then continued with the analysis of the development model.
The results of the study revealed that the implementation of an employee productivity improvement model found a problem. Because the perception of employee productivity is real performance (work results) without being divided into inputs used to produce the product. Productive time cannot be used as a time measure in work. Because not all of the time is used to produce products. Therefore, it is necessary to develop models that are easier and more practical in implementation. The technical calculation of the employee productivity index experiences complexity because it has to calculate the standard time and performance standards in real performance approach. Whereas in other approaches must calculate the standard productivity. Moreover, some of the product components are done on a team basis not individually. Employee productivity index can be defined as a multiplication between employee productivity that obtained from real performance divided with standard time. So, the development of employee productivity models found with real performance approaches and time relationship standards.
