Abstract

Recently, all villages in Indonesia obtain huge grants, particularly after implementing Law No. 5 Year 2014. The purpose of this study is to analyze the forms of gender inequalities in the governance of village grants in Bintan Regency, Kepulauan Riau. By using mixed methods to 210 respondents and 12 informants, this study reveals that marginalization, stereotype, subordination, and violence are the forms of gender inequalities in governing village grants in rural Indonesia. The findings of this study impact on the study of gender inequalities in rural Indonesia. This study also provides necessary policy implications on management and administration of village grants in Indonesia.
